About Our Ministry
Swannanoa Valley Christian Ministry (SVCM) is a team of committed staff, volunteers, churches, and community partners working together to provide essential support and compassionate service to our neighbors in the Swannanoa Valley. Whether it’s housing, food, clothing, or direct financial assistance for things like rent, heating, transportation, and utilities, our goal in every interaction is to affirm every individual’s inherent dignity and worthy regardless of their social or economic background.
Our Mission
Poverty is incredibly complex, emotionally draining, and often dominated by a narrative of shame. But we refuse to accept the lie that any person’s worth is dependent upon their social or economic lived experiences. Instead, every person has dignity and sacred worth. At SVCM we strive to communicate that dignity to all our neighbors through compassionate presence as we navigate together their most immediate and critical needs.
