Our Mission
Poverty is incredibly complex, emotionally draining, and often dominated by a narrative of shame. But we refuse to accept the lie that any person’s worth is dependent upon their social or economic lived experiences. Instead, every person has dignity and sacred worth. At SVCM we strive to communicate that dignity to all our neighbors through compassionate presence as we navigate together their most immediate and critical needs.

Our Ministry
Swannanoa Valley Christian Ministry (SVCM) is a team of committed staff, volunteers, churches, and community partners working together to meet the varied needs of our neighbors in the Swannanoa Valley with food, clothing, direct financial assistance, housing, and community resource navigation. For more information about what we offer, visit our Services page. Our ministry area reaches from Oteen (east of Riceville road, Asheville) to Ridgecrest, NC. Those seeking assistance outside of our service area can visit ABCCM.
