Johnny Raines Christmas Cheer Program
The Johnny Raines Christmas Cheer program provides gifts for families whose budgets do not allow for extra things like Christmas. Through the support of community sponsors and donations, we are able to offer a little extra Christmas joy to our neighbors by providing new toys, games, books, clothes, and other Christmas gifts to children in our community. In 2022, the Johnny Raines Christmas Cheer Program provided new toys, games, books, clothes, and other Christmas gifts to 290 children in our community.
Children must live in the household. We will assist with children 0-18 (must be attending school).

Thank you so much for blessing a child for Christmas. Here are some basic instructions to make
your gift-giving go smoothly:
If you decide to wrap the gifts, please place a sticky note with the child’s name and the item on
the gift. This will ensure the parents know who gets what and what was purchased.
If you do not want to wrap the gifts, that is fine. Any donations of tape, wrapping paper, and gift
bags will be gladly accepted and passed on to the parents.
Instructions:
Drop off will take place at First Baptist Church Black Mountain located at 130 Montreat Rd. Please come to the South Entrance, pull up to the doors under the awning and call the number on the door. Please do not come inside, just wait outside after you’ve called and Mandy or a Volunteer will assist you. You can drop off Monday December 5th – Friday December 9th between 10AM and 4PM. Please remember to drop off gifts by December 9, 2022 so we can contact the families to pick up their presents the next week.

Instructions:
- Please place gifts in a large, black trash bag and put masking tape with the parent’s last name on the outside of the bag. If there is more than one black trash bag, please put the total # of bags by the parent’s last name. (Example: 1 of 3, 2 of 3, 3 of 3)
- If there is more than one child in the family, please put each child’s gifts in a separate white trash bag and put the child’s first name on the bag. Then place the white trash bags inside the black trash bags. This helps ensure that the children don’t see their gifts. Our clients often have no choice but to bring their children with them to pick up the gifts.
