Johnny Raines Christmas Cheer Program
Help a family with Christmas.  In 2019, 172 families with 391 children received Christmas through the Johnny Raines Christmas Cheer Program.  This program helps ensure families are blessed with the spirit of Christmas.

Please read and share this amazing article featuring our program on the Valley Echo site.

Here are some basic instructions to make your gift giving go smoothly:
If you decide to wrap the gifts, please place a sticky note with the child’s name and the item on the gift. This will ensure the parents know who gets what and what was purchased.

If you do not want to wrap the gifts, that is fine. Any donations of tape, wrapping paper, and gift bags will be gladly accepted and passed on to the parents.

If you are dropping your gifts off at the South Entrance of First Baptist Church Black Mountain located at 130 Montreat Rd., pull up to the doors under the awning and call 828-372-2774.  Please do not come inside, just wait in your car after you’ve called and a volunteer will assist you. Drop off anytime Monday – Friday, December 7-16 from 9-3. Please remember to drop off gifts by December 16, 2019 so we can contact the families to pick up their presents by December 18th.

Please place gifts in large, black plastic trash bags.  If there is more than one child in the family, you may want to put each child’s gifts in a separate bag.  This helps ensure that the children don’t see their gifts. Often times our clients have no choice but to bring their children with them to pick up the gifts.  Put masking tape with the parent’s last name on the black trash bag(s). If there is more than one bag, please put the total # of bags by the parent’s name.

If you want to deliver the gifts to the family, please call and let us know you have made this delivery.  Please deliver by December 20, 2020.
